Bijelo Polje, October 2 – Solar Sign, a privately-owned Montenegrin company, has officially launched a new 5 MW solar photovoltaic plant in the northern municipality of Bijelo Polje. The project, valued at 4 million euro ($4.7 million), marks the first solar power facility in the area.
Speaking at the inauguration, municipal president Petar Smolović emphasized that the plant demonstrates Bijelo Polje’s commitment to attracting green investments and building a sustainable future with the support of reliable partners.
According to local outlet Bankar.me, this is Solar Sign’s fourth solar park in Montenegro. Located in Zaton village, the facility covers seven hectares and is expected to generate 7,300 MWh of electricity annually.
Looking ahead, Solar Sign also intends to install a battery storage system at the site by 2027, boosting the efficiency and reliability of renewable power supply in the region.
Founded in June 2022 by local entrepreneurs Nermin Omerhodžić, Igor Papić, and Miloš Pejić – each holding a 33.33% stake – Solar Sign has quickly established itself as a key player in Montenegro’s renewable energy market.
